Photograph added 22nd September 2013
Comment 1 Left by Alec Brocklehurst on the 26th February 2021 That doesn't look like Fernilee to me... Comment 2 Left by G.J. on the 27th February 2021 Certainly not Fernilee, but I don't know where it is. Comment 3 Left by Derek Boothby on the 1st March 2021 I think this might be the rear of Trinity Church taken from the Memorial Park. The river is between the photographer and the church, between the church and the building on the extreme left the houses on the opposite side of Buxton Road are visible, and Rock Bank is on the horizon. Comment 4 Left by G.J. on the 1st March 2021 Brilliant Derek, I had looked on 'street view' and couldn't find the houses on Buxton Road with the two apex roof sections. but the houses are right at the end of the block and do fit in with the photo of the church. Much of the church grounds have been altered since the photograph was taken.
Checked with most churches in Whaley and New Mills.
This week's puzzle. Someone must know where it is especially with all the surrounding houses.
A Whaley Bridge UDC guide of 1959 lists it as 'Holy Trinity, Fernilee', two later ones (1981 and '84) as 'Holy Trinity, Buxton Road'.
