I remember Jim Longson; I think he lived up Elnor Lane.

He was in the second world war and was captured by the enemy. He wrote a book about it; I think he may have even escaped.

He had a son also called Jim; he was killed in a motorbike accident on the road to Chapel when he was very young. Perhaps 16 or 17.

I might be able to find out.

Jim did write a book about his exploits at Arnhem, operation Market Garden, the film 'A Bridge Too Far' was all about it. I have a signed copy of the book if anyone wants to borrow it.

Also my great grandfather, married to Barbara and had daughter Helen, son Andrew and late son James. Interesting fact, was captured by the Germans and escaped by making a key out of soap.
