Taxal Church has had some alterations over the years, the vestry has been enlarged, the doorway, the round window and the lean-to building are no longer there.

Good morning AB,

I am reminded that the doorway may well have been enlarged when the late Reverend Sam Evans threw Colonel Hall out of St James' Church one Sunday and others followed after incurring the wrath of Sam.

The expulsion of Colonel Hall lead directly to the building of Holy Trinity Church in Horwich End.
