#3194 Goytsclough postcard

Post by drstir »

Image

I just came across this old photo of Goytsclough which shows the old mill buildings in the background.

But it's a fairly low-quality so I can't zoom into capture the detail.

I just wondered if anyone else might have a better version to post on the Goyt Valley website.

Hello drstir

I don't think you would get much detail even if the picture was clearer.
I re-sized it and zoomed in and there is a wall, trees, and shrubs preventing a clear view of the buildings.
There are also trees behind the buildings that blend in with the roofs so any detail, I think, would be hard to get.
There may also be a problem with the age of the camera that took the photograph. The person walking along the road is slightly blurred so that would mean the buildings are as well, which does not help.

I hope you can find a clearer picture so you can get the detail you want.

Digger.

Thanks for responding, Digger. It would be great if I could track down an original postcard. Maybe one will turn up one day...
